Over four nights, as a series of evolving perspectives, Signals & Presence explores how individuals assert identity and visibility in an increasingly networked world.
Each night between March 12 through March 15 features a different group of photographers, visual storytellers and mixed media artists whose work reflects the ways culture, technology, and personal narratives shape how we express ourselves today and highlights moments of connection, self-definition, and presence within contemporary life. On Friday, March 13, work from "SHE Rides" will be displayed.
“The photos feature women from the Caramel Curves Motorcycle Club Atlanta. They make their presence known. They lean into their feminine power and individual style through the way they dress, modified bikes and one-of-a-kind signature helmets. They are known for doing burnouts sometimes with pink smoke. But with motorcycle riding still male dominated, these women make their presence known simply by riding their own.”
Participating artists were selected for their ability to capture these intersections of identity and connection. Alongside their work, artists will share written reflections that provide context for their pieces and insight into how their work engages with the exhibition theme.
Friday, March 13 from 8PM - 10 PM
