“Tossed”, RINGSIDE, Abigail Ekue Photography, 2024

Abigail Ekue Photography is one of the selected photographers in the upcoming exhibit, Motion, at PH21 Gallery Barcelona.

"Depicting or expressing motion is a welcome challenge for photographers; photography is a medium of still images; it cannot create the illusion of motion the way moving images such as film, video, or cartoons can. The fragile moment might be disrupted by showing the sweeping power of motion. Capturing motion is never a given in photography because it is not a default option of the medium. To capture movement and the passing of time is also the source of some of the most creative images in diverse photographic genres."

Three (3) images from the series, RINGSIDE, will be exhibited. “I’m Not Finished With You”, featuring Braun Strowman and two photos of Iyo Sky - “Tossed” and “Iyo Sky”. Those images are a few of my favorites from the series because of the energy and urgency they exude. Perfect for the theme of ‘motion’.

The group exhibition will be on view from June 27 to July 21, 2026.
