Gràcies Barcelona
I am pleased to share that I was one of the exhibiting photographers in the Monochrome exhibit at PH21 Gallery Barcelona which opened on November 15. For this exhibit a B-Roll portrait from Black in Black and White titled "Diaspora" was selected by the curators. Sending lots of love, strength and healing to the friend who sat for the portrait in 2021.
The exhibit made for a perfect reason to visit Barcelona for the first time! I loved exploring the medieval alleys and narrow streets and the juxtaposition of palm trees amongst the stones.
Yes, of course, I had my camera with me. I sought out locals in Barcelona to lead me on excursions throughout the Gothic Quarter, El Born, El Raval (I seek out people who do what I do in NY when I travel) and to check Bunkers del Carmel off my to-visit list. I also did some exploring on my own. I am a flâneuse at heart. I thoroughly enjoyed the city. I felt comfortable there.
Full disclosure, I had no intention to visit Sagrada Familia - it is what it is. But I did end up walking around it so I hope I get points for that.
Barna, I shall return.
